Empowering Teen Girls in the Macarthur

empoweringsmDannielle Miller, one of Australia’s foremost educators, authors and media commentators on teenagers enlightened a sold out audience of approximately 100 parents, teenage girls and educators at a recent seminar held in Narellan Library.

The seminar exposed the pain of the teengirl world: the body image crises, low self-esteem and constant bombardment with toxic and hypersexual media and marketing portrayals of women.

Across Australia, 107 organisations are funded by the Commonwealth of Australia, as represented by the Department of Education, to deliver the Partnership Brokers program.

The Partnership Brokers Program builds partnerships with schools, businesses and community groups and develops programs to help students at risk of disengaging with school overcome barriers to continue their learning and attain Year 12 or equivalent qualifications.
