Youths pledge to reduce footprint

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016

The Campbelltown Youth Network has launched a new initiative called ‘sustain your selfie’, encouraging young locals to think sustainably.¬† The initiative, run in conjunction with Campbelltown Council, asks our young people to think about simple things they could do each day to reduce their environmental footprint.

More than 200 ‘selfie’ pledges – where participants took a photo of themselves and their written pledge of sustainability –¬†were made after the network provided facts on environmentally damaging behaviours, most of which were posted to the council’s Facebook page.

Pledges included turning off mobile phone chargers once the phone is charged, using sustainable products and promoting sustainable behaviours through social media.
