What we do: Foundations For Young Parents (FFYP)

Foundations For Young Parents (FFYP) is a service available to expectant and new young parents in the Macarthur and Camden LGA’s.

  • We support both Mums and Dads with information about child development, coping with the demands of meeting their child’s emotional needs, and focus on the importance of building healthy relationships.
  • We help to build parents capacity to access services to avoid social isolation.
  • We can visit at the parents home, our office, or a public place.
  • We can start support during pregnancy and continue to build Mums and Dads parenting capacity until the child is 2 years old

Preparation to Parenthood program – Campbelltown Hospital

This is a 9 week program presented by a mid-wife and supported by Foundations For Young Parents (FFYP).

  • During the program, expectant young parents, both Mums and Dads, are guided through what is expected during labour, the birthing process and looking after the baby immediately after birth.
  • This program includes a tour of the maternity ward, practical exercises in caring for baby, an excursion to visit other useful services available in the area, and a session on self-care.
  • The best part of the program is meeting other young people who are also expecting a baby and sharing both good and bad experience along the way.
  • BOOKINGS can be made through the Antenatal Unit of Campbelltown Hospital Ph: 02 4634 3000

Under 21’s Playgroup – Macarthur Square

Giving young parents the space and opportunity to discuss parenting strategies in a supportive and comfortable environment.

  • We offer support to both Mums and Dads to help their children reach developmental milestones.
  • Afternoon tea is provided, and we take this time to share our parenting experiences.

Macarthur Square: Good beginnings is located on the Ground Level – down the corridor between The Perfume Shop and David Jones.
